Bereavement Ministry provides spiritual comfort to those who have lost a loved one in the parish.

When a parishioner passes away, members send to the surviving spouse, son, daughter, etc. the following:

Initial sympathy card with a care note such as “Finding Your Way after the Death of a Spouse,” “Losing Your Mother,” etc. Sympathy cards are signed by hand “Father Mick and your St. Elizabeth Seton Parish Family”.

A packet of six sympathy cards with various supportive care notes is set up in a “tickler” file, with a care note sent out every other month.

The first year after the death of a parishioner, the family is remembered one to two weeks prior to Easter and Christmas with a flower delivered by our volunteers.
