The Youth Group at St. Elizabeth Seton is a community of high school age young adults who are journeying together spiritually to explore the social and contemporary issues facing them in today’s world.
Young people should be able to have fun while remaining active in their faith. With this in mind, the Youth Group meets weekly for fun group activities, community service projects, and discussions on faith and moral issues of interest to youth. These issues, often quite exciting and challenging, are presented in a timely manner for discussion and exchange.
All high-school aged members of the parish are invited to attend Youth Group meetings that are held on Sunday evenings at 6:30 P.M. in Seton Hall. Friendships and wonderful times occur at various outings, events and social outreach scheduled throughout the year. An annual retreat provides an opportunity for youth group members to recognize, develop, nurture and appreciate their special gifts and blessings.
Past activities have included: miniature golf, Theology of the Body discussion, serving food to the homeless with Men’s New Creation Ministry, campfire cookouts, bowling night, Dear Abby youth issue discussion, Station of the Cross presentation, movie night, Catholic Youth Xperience Retreat, Homelessness project, World Pulse Festival Christian Rock Concert, World Youth Day 2011 in Madrid, Spain, question and answer session with Father Doug, and Teens are People Too Retreat.
Adults willing to share their faith stories, experiences and/or work with the high school group are encouraged and welcomed on the Youth Group Team. To keep teenagers engaged in their faith by creating an environment of friendship, faith sharing, and community service.
