The heart of the Prison Ministry is to see Jesus in the stranger of a prisoner and give support during incarceration and reentrance into society.
Prison Ministry ministers help in several ways:
Prayer Partners: People who pray for the offenders, the staff and the judicial system.
Writers: People who write to the offenders in all Indiana prisons, send birthday & Christmas cards
Donations: We provide clothing, shoes, and toiletries to offenders upon their reentry back into society. Volunteers assist to shop and help sort the donations of shirts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweaters, jeans, jackets, belts, and wallets. (These donated items are left by the St. Elizabeth Seton statue by our generous parishioners).
Prison Ministry also holds services at the Porter County Jail and the Juvenile Center.
The Prison Ministry meets every Monday morning.
