Today, Friday, 1 May, Archbishop José H. Gomez, Archbishop of Los Angeles and President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, will be reconsecrating our nation to the Blessed Virgin Mary. He has invited all of the bishops of the United States to join him at the same time from their cathedrals. Bishop Robert McClory, Bishop of Gary, has extended this invitation to all parishes to offer this prayer sometime on Friday.
This act of consecration to the Blessed Mother is meant to remind us of her fidelity to the Good News, and to ask for her intercession before the throne of her Son.
On this page, you will find two links:
1. The first link will take you to Bishop McClory’s service being offered at 2pm Friday 1 May.
2. The second link will give you the texts that will be used in our St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church at the end of Evening Prayer. Evening Prayer and the reconsecration service in our parish will begin at 6pm.
May God bless you and your loved ones. May the Blessed Virgin Mary intercede for us all.
